Gratitude

20 years ago today,  then President, Ronald Reagan pleaded:  "Mr. Gorbachov, open this gate. Mr. Gorbachev, tear down this wall." He meant the Berlin Wall which was erected to divide Germany into East and West after WWII and stopped families and friends from seeing each other or even split families in half.

I lived in East Germany and remember that West Germany and the United States were off limits to me and that life was better there. So this is a day in history which affected me personally. Today I can travel freely to see everyone in Germany.  I am thankful.

Why are you grateful? Please share a day or time in your life.
